School of Theatre Graduate Students' Success
Master of Fine Arts graduates Geoffrey Kershner (Directing, 2006) and Krista Franco (Scene Design, 2006) founded Endstation Theatre when they graduated from FSU. They established the resident company at Sweet Briar College in Virginia. (Former FSU Dean of Undergraduate Studies Dr. Elizabeth Muhlenfeld was president of the institution at the time.) Since its origin, Endstation has grown into an entity that presents innovative productions of established work and new work. The practice of staging pioneering productions is something Kershner and Franco initiated while they were students in the School of Theatre.
Kershner and Franco have maintained strong connections to the School of Theatre and Florida State University. Graduates who have worked at the theatre include: Drew Becker (BFA, Design and Technology, 2007), Dan Caffrey (BA, Theatre, 2006), Natalie Caruncho (BFA, Acting, 2008), Brian Chaitin (BA, Theatre, 2008), Jason Chimonedes (MFA, Directing, 2004), Ryan Clark (MFA, Directing, 2009), Walter Kmiec (BA, Theatre, 2004), David McElwee (BFA, Acting Student), Josh Mikel (BA, Theatre, 2007), Bryce Page (BA, Theatre, 2006), Michael Stablein, Jr (BFA, Acting, 2008), Sergio Soltero (BA, Theatre, 2007), and Ashley Zach (BA, Communication, 2006; MA, Communication, 2007).
