Tuition Waivers and Fees
Tuition Rates & Fees
The tuition rates for 2010-2011 will be available through the Student Financial Services office. For students receiving tuition waivers it should be noted that these waivers cover the cost of tuition, leaving the cost of student fees (Facility Use, Parking, Building Fee, etc...) the responsibility of the student. Please contact David Beck at dbeck@admin.fsu.edu for more information on student fees.
Tuition Waivers
FSU Employees
FSU Employees are eligible for a tuition scholarship that can cover tuition costs for up to 6 hours at FSU for any full time FSU employee in good academic standing. Please visit the Office of Human Resources website for more information.
State Employees
Employees of the State of Florida are eligible to take up to 6 graduate level credit hours per semester on a space available basis. Individuals using the state tuition waiver must be fully admitted degree-seeking or non-degree seeking students. State employees using a tuition waiver must complete the registration process, and submit the tuition waiver to the Office of the University Registrar no later than the fifth day of classes. See the Office of the University Registrar's website for additional information, and to download the State Employee Tuition Waiver Form.
Graduate Assistants
Graduate assistants who have at least a one-quarter time assistantship (10 hour per week of teaching or research) or students on a fellowship of at least $3,150 per term are eligible for a tuition waiver.
Insofar as they are available, out-of-state tuition and matriculation fee waivers are reserved for full-time, degree-seeking graduate assistants and fellows. Graduate assistant and fellowship stipends are normally subject to federal income tax.
All students receiving funding from the University (e.g. Fellowship or Assistantship) will be held to the stipulations put forward by the Council of Graduate Schools resolutions regarding accepting awards. Please view the attached document for the full resolution. (pdf 29.35 kB)
Provisional, special, and part-time students at the graduate level are not eligible for tuition waivers.
For questions concerning general tuition waiver information please contact David Beck at 850-644-3501 or email: dbeck@admin.fsu.edu.
Cancellation Conditions
Waivers are canceled if the student withdraws from the University, drops below the required academic load, or terminates the assistantship. Waivers will not cover any dropped classes. The student will be responsible for any fees assessed.
