Graduate-Professional Student Appreciation Week is a national celebration held during the first week of April and will be observed across the Florida State University campus from April 6–10, 2026.
Graduate-Professional Student Appreciation Week at FSU is a time to celebrate the vital contributions of our graduate and professional students in research, teaching, service, and leadership across the Florida State University community. The meaningful connection FSU holds with this celebration traces back to its origin in 1993, when FSU graduate student Anne Holt, along with fellow student advocates through the National Association of Graduate Professional Students (NAGPS), helped establish a national effort to visibly recognize and appreciate the impact, value, and contributions of graduate students. This connection with the nationally recognized event holds great importance and signifies the strong population of Graduate and Professional students who have chosen FSU as their institution of higher education.
Throughout this week of celebration, the greater FSU community organizes a variety of events designed to recognize, support, and thank our students for their dedication, scholarship, and leadership. Graduate and professional students are encouraged to participate, connect with peers, and join us in celebrating all that they bring to FSU. We encourage all graduate and professional students to attend the events below and take part in the week’s various activities hosted around campus.
